Moenkhausia agnesae

Moenkhausia agnesae is a South American freshwater characin from the upper Amazon River basin, appreciated as a graceful tetra with a sturdy body, silvery coloration, and a calm yet active schooling presence. Compared with many smaller tetras, it has a slightly larger and more robust appearance, giving it a natural sense of strength while still retaining the elegant movement typical of Moenkhausia species. For successful care, Moenkhausia agnesae should be kept in a group and provided with clean, stable tropical water, gentle filtration, ample swimming space, and shaded cover, allowing its peaceful social behavior and understated ornamental beauty to be observed in a healthy captive environment.
