It was selectively bred, particularly from the Red Cherry Shrimp lineage, and is characterized by its deep, beautiful velvet-like blue body color. Being relatively easy to keep and breed, it is popular among aquarists of all levels, from beginners to veterans. 繁殖を狙う場合は単独飼育が理想です。混泳させる場合は、オトシンクルスやクーリーローチなど、シュリンプを捕食しない小型でおとなしい魚を選びましょう。他のNeocaridina属（レッドチェリー、イエローチェリーなど）とは交雑し、色合いが失われるため混泳は避けるべきです。For breeding, single-species tanks are ideal.
