Cryptocoryne walkeri

Cryptocoryne walkeri is the scientific name of a Sri Lankan Cryptocoryne species in the family Araceae, and it is an important keyword for understanding rosette-form aquatic plants used in the midground of planted aquariums. Its relatively firm, upright leaves can create a calm natural impression around stones, driftwood, and open foreground areas, making it useful for connecting the front and back of an aquascape without overwhelming the layout. When keeping Cryptocoryne walkeri in an aquarium, it is important to provide a stable substrate, avoid sudden changes in water conditions, and allow the plant time to adapt, as Cryptocoryne species may temporarily melt back after environmental changes before producing new submerged leaves.
