Pangio myersi

Pangio myersi is a Southeast Asian freshwater loach belonging to the family Cobitidae, commonly known as the giant kuhli loach and recognized for its thick, eel-like body, rounded form, and bold dark bands over a warm yellowish to orange base color. Its habit of weaving through soft substrate, hiding among driftwood, leaves, and stones, and emerging most actively during quiet periods gives it a mysterious charm that appeals to aquarists who enjoy observing natural bottom-dwelling behavior. When understanding Pangio myersi in aquarium care, it is important to provide fine sand that will not damage its delicate body or barbels, plenty of shaded hiding places, clean and stable water, and peaceful tankmates, as these conditions help reduce stress and bring out its calm movement, healthy coloration, and long-term vitality.
