Orange Bolivia

Orange Bolivia is a trade name used for an orange-toned form related to the Lemon Tetra, often treated in the aquarium hobby as Hyphessobrycon cf. pulchripinnis “Orange Bolivia,” and is admired for its stronger orange coloration and cleaner fin pattern compared with the familiar yellow lemon tetra. As a peaceful shoaling characin, it shows its appeal most clearly when kept in a group, where its warm body color, active midwater swimming, and gentle social behavior create a bright yet refined presence in planted or blackwater-style community aquariums. When maintaining Orange Bolivia in captivity, stable clean water, soft to slightly acidic conditions when possible, subdued lighting, plants or driftwood for security, and a varied diet of fine prepared, frozen, or live foods are important for reducing stress, enhancing coloration, and supporting the natural beauty of this uncommon tetra.
