Garra rufa

Garra rufa is a small freshwater fish in the carp family, best known as the doctor fish because of its habit of nibbling on dead skin from human feet and hands. In the aquarium, it is appreciated for its active behavior, constant grazing on surfaces, and lively movement when kept in groups. To keep Garra rufa healthy, it is important to provide clean, well-filtered water, enough swimming space, and a stable environment with minimal stress, while avoiding overcrowding and sudden changes in water temperature or water quality.
