キラースネールは、東南アジア原産の淡水巻貝です。最大の特徴は、その名の通り、他の貝類を捕食する肉食性であることです。この性質を利用し、水槽内で意図せず増えてしまったスネール（モノアラガイ、サカマキガイなど）を駆除する「生物兵器」として、アクアリウムで非常に重宝されています。黄色と黒の縞模様を持つ美しい殻も魅力的ですが、その導入は、水槽内の生態系を理解した上で慎重に行う必要があります。 The Assassin Snail is a species of freshwater snail native to Southeast Asia. Its most defining characteristic, as its name implies, is its carnivorous nature, preying on other snails.
