クマノミは、日本近海でも普通に見られる、最もポピュラーなクマノミの一種です。カクレクマノミとよく混同されますが、本種は体側の白いバンドが2本（カクレクマノミは3本）であることや、体色が黒っぽいものから黄色いものまで地域によってバリエーションに富むことで区別できます。非常に丈夫で飼育しやすく、幅広い種類のイソギンチャクと共生します。ただし、カクレクマノミに比べてやや気が強く、成長すると縄張り意識が強くなる傾向があります。Clark’s Anemonefish is one of the most popular clownfish species and is commonly found in the waters around Japan. It is often confused with the Ocellaris Clownfish, but can be distinguished by its two white body bands (compared to three in Ocellaris) and its wide range of color variations, from blackish to yellowish, depending on the region. It is very hardy, easy to keep, and forms symbiotic relationships with a wide variety of sea anemones. However, it tends to be slightly more aggressive than the Ocellaris Clownfish and can become more territorial as it grows.
