Hyphessobrycon wadai

Hyphessobrycon wadai is a small Brazilian freshwater tetra known in the aquarium hobby as the Blueberry Tetra, admired for its delicate blue to purple body tones and contrasting reddish fins. As a compact characin from the upper Rio Tapajós region, it is best appreciated as a peaceful schooling fish whose refined coloration becomes especially attractive when kept in groups within a calm, well-planted aquarium. For successful care, Hyphessobrycon wadai should be provided with clean, stable water, gentle filtration, subdued cover, and fine foods suited to small tetras, allowing its natural group behavior and elegant coloration to develop in a healthy captive environment.
